Lori Jean Morley

Lori Morley, age 47 of Mahnomen, MN, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at her home.

Lori Jean Morley, daughter of Myles and Janice (Smith) Morley, was born in Detroit Lakes, MN, on March 19, 1965. She grew up in the Detroit Lakes area where she attended school. Lori was blessed with four children: Josh, Kimberly, Donnie Jr., and Star. She made her home mostly in Detroit Lakes later moving to Mahnomen to be near family. Lori always had a positive attitude and loved to joke around. Her great sense of humor and wit was well known by all of her family and friends. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing Bingo. Lori also spent many hours scrapbooking, cross stitching and doing beadwork. Most important in Lori’s life was her family. She always had time to visit, whether in person or a lengthy chat on the phone. She cherished all of her family but especially the time spent with her dear grandchildren.

Lori is survived by her mother, Janice Morley of Mahnomen; three children: Kimberly (Glen Forehand) Morley, Star Merrill, and Donnie Merrill Jr., all of Mahnomen; and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ashlyn Forehand; brothers: John (Myrna) Smith of Callaway, MN, Brian Smith and Michael (Robin) Morley both of Mahnomen; sisters, Cheri (Danny Stevens) Smith and Lisa (Micky)Denenny both of Ulen, MN; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Josh; father, Myles “Pete” Morley; her grandparents; two uncles and one aunt.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 am at the White Earth Community Center in White Earth, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 11 am at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in White Earth, with visitation one hour prior at the church.

Burial will be in the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Mahnomen.
